On Wednesday, October 15, in the splendid setting of the Castello Estense in Ferrara, the first edition of ArchIA took place: a workshop conceived by Linvisibile in collaboration with the Order of Architects of Ferrara, aimed at opening a timely and necessary dialogue on the role of artificial intelligence in the world of architectural design.
An afternoon full of insights, practical tools, and critical reflections, which involved over 90 architects from Ferrara and neighboring provinces. ArchIA was created as a multidisciplinary space for sharing ideas, experiences, and visions on the future of design.
ArchIA – The talks
After the introduction by Francesco Rigo, CEO of Linvisibile, professionals and experts took the stage to explore the relationship between architecture and AI from different perspectives:
- Stefano Bastia (SOA Architecture) reflected on the evolution of architectural design, from parametric logic to generative intelligence.
- Andrea Ciaccia (Codeploy) and Alessandra Paracchi showcased the practical use of tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney, focusing on simplifying and optimizing the daily work of design studios.
- Arch. Monica Graziina, representing the Order of Architects of Ferrara, offered an important insight into the ethical aspects and professional responsibilities related to the use of new technologies.
- To close, Tomas Ghisellini, architect and lecturer, moderated the final discussion, gathering ideas and questions from the audience and guiding a stimulating exchange.
A meaningful and well-attended event
ArchIA was organized in partnership with the Order of Architects of Ferrara, with the essential support of sponsors and partners who believed in the cultural value of the initiative:
San Marco Group, Wall&decò, Zampieri Cucine, with the patronage of the Municipality of Ferrara and the University of Ferrara.
A heartfelt thank you to all participants, speakers, and those who made this first edition possible. ArchIA marks a starting point: the goal is to replicate this format in other Italian cities, expanding its reach and impact.
